All About CBD Capsules

What is CBD?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol, which is the second most prominent of the active ingredients found in the hemp plant. CBD is a critical component of medical hemp that, unlike THC, does not produce a “high.” CBD can be bought isolated by itself from a hemp plant, containing minimal-to-no THC, or it can be derived from the actual hemp plant, in which case slightly higher levels of THC (up to 0.3%) will be present.

What are CBD Oil Capsules

Hemp CBD Capsules are just as they imply, capsules containing cannabidiol (CBD) oil. For ease of consumption, Hemp CBD oil is placed into capsules, which provides a consistent dose in an easy-to-consume pill. CBD Capsules are subject to what is called the first pass effect, which has the potential to decrease the potency of the hemp CBD oil capsule as it goes through additional processing and breakdown within your digestive tract.

How do I use CBD Capsules?

CBD Capsules are consumed just as you would take any other pill or supplement. Through the capsules, patients are able to get a consistent dosing and find out what amount of CBD oil capsules provide the best relief for you.

Taking the CBD Capsules are as easy as swallowing!

How Many CBD Capsules Should I Take?

The amount of CBD that each patient requires to find relief varies between individuals. It is always a good idea to consult with your doctor and get a recommendation for a hemp CBD dosage based on your condition. Everyone’s condition and body is different, so there is no “correct” dosage based on your condition, age, etc.

For more guidance, check out our CBD Dosage page, which provides insight on duration of effects for each ingestion method, and much more. The impact of the hemp CBD you ingest depends on your weight, your medical condition, the strength of the hemp CBD oil capsule, and the condition you are treating.

How Long do CBD Capsules Stay in your System?

Typically, hemp CBD will stay in your system anywhere from 2-5 days. That being said, how long hemp CBD is in your system varies on many factors, including dosage, ingestion method, how often you use hemp CBD, your body chemistry, weight, and more.

Can I Break Open Hemp CBD Capsules?

Yes, CBD capsules can be emptied into food or drink. However, this is typically difficult, and tinctures or oils are better suited to this form of administration.

Does Hemp CBD get you "High?"

While many CBD patients report feeling more relaxed, there is no risk of feeling “high” if the patient is using CBD products from the hemp plant.

Can Hemp CBD Capsules Go Bad?

As with any natural product, CBD capsules do not have an unlimited shelf life. According to Weedmaps, CBD can in fact lose its potency over time, typically if it is not properly stored for over two years. Older CBD oil is less likely to be as potent as fresher oil. It is always recommended to store your Hemp CBD products in cooler, dark spaces and limit their exposure to oxygen.

When is the best time to take a CBD Oil Capsule?

The best time to consume hemp CBD is all based on the individual and the condition being treated.  Other individuals dose with CBD multiple times per day for more lasting effects. Each individual will develop a routine and dosage for which they experience optimum relief. It is always recommended to consult your doctor about your CBD dosage.
